MBUK Loves MOAB!
Moab is one of the most iconic mountain biking spots on earth- it’s somewhere that all mountain bikers should visit at least once…
It tests the fittest, makes the even the most adrenaline seeking riders buzz and has that perfect mountain biking vibe going on.
We flew in via Dallas to Grand Junction, filled up a hire van to the brim with bikes and made the 60 mile journey to Moab under the cover of darkness, arriving at Red Cliff Lodges- our base for the week.
Having stayed at the Red Cliff Lodges before on a Trek presentation, I knew what to expect in the morning but the other guys were blown away by the views the next morning- it’s literally surrounded by the enormous red cliffs of the Castle Valley. Staggering.
Over the week we managed to ride Amasa Back with the Rockstacker and Jacksons Trail options, Bartlett Wash, the infamous Slickrock trail and the incredible Porcupine Rim. Which is probably the best trail in the world…
The ultra nice guys and girls from Poison Spider bike shop helped us out with shuttle runs to the top of Porcupine Rim, and were a great source of info about the trails in the area. And also recommended us to eat at Miguels Mexican- which kicked ass.
There will be plenty of stuff going in MBUK from this trip, so keep your eyes peeled, but enough gassing from me- check out a few pics from the trip!
