Bike-mountaineering video takes things to a new level

I first happened upon this video during an internet trawl one lunch-time. It was wet outside, my boxers were still sodden from the ride into work and well, you get the picture…

Anyway, after a quick watch of this my faith in all things mountain biking was restored and my pants felt all of a sudden a dryer, happier place to be.

One of the coolest things about Harald Philipp & Martin Falkner’s riding in it is that it’s a lot different from the typical Euro-style descending you usually see on t’internet. They properly carve snow and trials their way through some stuff that you would seriously consider walking around. Ok, it may be half the height but the memories of hike-a-biking my way up Snowdon with Jamer and co earlier in the summer (MBUK 265) came rushing back – I could almost feel the pain in my shoulders and the grin on my face coming surging back.

Anyway, enjoy and hope it fires some ideas into life for 2012.
