We know that making your sportive debut can be a daunting task. We also realise even experienced riders don’t always enjoy the best days out on the bike in big events. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Scott Sports to give riders at the Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape Mercia on August 18 the best chance of having a great day out at this brand new event.

Sign up for it at www.etapemercia.co.uk using the code CYCLINGPLUSMERCIA and you’ll be automatically entered into the draw to win a place on the Scott Sportive Squad on the day. As a member of the squad you’ll be guided around this breathtaking, completely closed-road 69-mile route through the West Cheshire countryside by our three experienced Scott Sportive Squad ride leaders.

The Scott Sportive Squad ride leaders will offer you essential on the road advice on subjects including riding in a big group, climbing – and descending – hills with ease and fuelling properly. They’ll also be able to offer you top tips on your bike setup and – if you get unlucky – hints on fixing punctures in record time! So, if you want the smoothest sportive experience ever, sign up now for a chance to join the Scott Sportive Squad!

If you’ve already signed up for the Etape Mercia look out for our three Scott Sportive Squad riders on August 18. Before the off they’ll be hanging out at the Scott stand – say hello and ask their advice on anything sportive or if you see them on the ride and need some moral support or simply fancy joining a drilled group they’ll be happy to help!
