So the latest news is that Martyn Ashton is currently out of action, following a nasty spill at one of his incredible Animal WD-40 Action Sports Tours , but as Martyn only knows too well from a previous injury in 2003 when he broke his back, things like this can happen in mountain biking.
But you’re just as likely to suffer a serious injury crossing a road, so worrying about this stuff really isn’t the way to go.
I’m not a big fan of categorisation, and I dislike pigeon-holing for the sake of it – especially when it leads to unnecessary views on what can and can’t be done, or people believing categories are there for a genuine reason.
I’ve been riding the 2013 Foxy XR a hell of a lot recently, with the Forward Geometry – and have now received the 2014 model for First Ride review in the magazine…
If you’re between 11 and 17years old, and you want to dramatically improve your riding skills, then you might want to consider making yourself free from 26th-28th of August.
I love this time of year, as there’s so much going on and so many places to get to! A couple of weeks back, my Swedish friend Hanna and I set off for a month of racing, riding and good times in France…
To further celebrate 25 years of pushing mountain biking, we’ve been trawling through our huge collection of bike videos- some are modern downloads, others DVD’s and there’s even a few VHS relics clogging up the place. It inspired us to put together a Spotify playlist with a bunch of classic MTB video tunes, and we’ve managed to find some of the video clips to boot. Sadly, Spotify doesn’t have everything- there are a bunch of obscure tunes that we can’t find, but we do have kicking around on various iPods here…
We’re still celebrating our 25 years in the saddle here at MBUK- it’s been a heck of a long ride but one we’re still loving.
Hi all! The last month has been really hectic for me- full of travels to France and Italy, racing, great riding with new friends in new places, long haul solo driving missions, snow, thunder storms and golden beaches… just about a bit of everything!
The last few weeks have been action packed again! MBUK film-maker Liam Murphy came up from Wales to my home in Fort William to make a film together.
Having been at MBUK a fair old time now – it’s my 12th year this year – I recently took a much needed break away from bikes and went back packing in Asia. Sans bike.
