The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) today used a survey to claim that ‘More than half of cyclists jump red lights‘. But by using even less science we’ve uncovered something even more sinister – almost half of cyclists have upset a kitten while riding.

1992 was quite a year. The Maastricht Treaty was signed, Bill Clinton was elected President of the United States and Charles and Eddie had a number one with their timeless classic Would I Lie To You. And Cycling Plus was born! 260 issues later we’re celebrating our ‘china’ anniversary with another top notch issue.
I know it feels like summer has already started thanks to the glorious weather of late. Long rides in the evening sun, morning commutes without overshoes. Sad truth is, it hasn’t. And by the time bank holiday rolls around, we’ll all be out cycling in the rain again.

A few weeks ago I spent an enthralling couple of days in my loft installing insulation. I found a dead spider, a box full of spices with best before dates in the early 1990s and a picture of a unicorn standing by a waterfall under a rainbow. I don’t think I’ll be troubling Christies with any of these items – unless Van Gogh painted horny horses. Veteran cycling journo Roger St Pierre has found a much better loft find story though!
