I’m getting married in 6 months time.
A few weeks ago I spent an enthralling couple of days in my loft installing insulation. I found a dead spider, a box full of spices with best before dates in the early 1990s and a picture of a unicorn standing by a waterfall under a rainbow. I don’t think I’ll be troubling Christies with any of these items – unless Van Gogh painted horny horses. Veteran cycling journo Roger St Pierre has found a much better loft find story though!
Production Editor Tass Whitby has gone for the third fitting for a custom bike, this time from Paulus Quirós, for our upcoming feature on custom-built bikes. It sounds like the ‘fitting’ mostly involved a pleasant ride by the sea. Not too shabby…
Former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio and his cricketing counterpart, Freddie Flintoff, are riding 2817km from Greece to London for charity, Nicola Smith caught up with them for issue 260 of Cycling Plus, which hits the shops today.
For our forthcoming feature on custom-built bikes, our newest recruit – tech writer Robin Wilmott – has been tasked with choosing himself a Lynskey. This, he admits, isn’t bad as first assignments go…
Today’s the day that issue 259 of Britain’s best selling cycling magazine Cycling Plus – which after much thought we have called March 2012 – hits the shops. And, even if I say so myself, it’s a stunner!
Heading your way in the summer, Cycling Plus will be looking into the world of custom bikes. We’ve picked frame builders who offer a variety of styles, materials, design, and finish. We’ll be checking out the services provided by Lynskey, Enigma, and Paulos Quiros. Technical editor Warren Rossiter has got in first and has already been fitted up for a custom carbon race bike from Parlee.
It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Harry Blackwood is a MAMIL. And he’s proud of it. He’s been shopping…someone tell him to step away from the internet.
