Vote Mark Cavendish Sports Personality of the Year

We made Mark Cavendish our Man of the Year mostly because of his results in 2010 but also because he has personality. And as Samuel L Jackson’s character Jules Winnfield said in Pulp Fiction, “personality goes a long way.”

What’s in the new issue of Procycling

| Blog, News, ProCycling | no responses | 30/11/2010 09:25am

We reckon we’ve outdone ourselves with the latest Procycling – our grand look back at the year that was pro road racing in 2010. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s inside.

Mark Cavendish gives us a very personal account of five moments that defined his season, from the crash at Tour of Switzerland, through to representing the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Games.

We talk to comeback kid Jean Eudes Demaret, the Cofidis rider struck by a bug that almost killed him. He’s on the mend now and hunting a place at next year’s Tour.

We look back at Fabian Cancellara’s phenomenal cobbled Classics campaign that ultimately fuelled rumours he had an engine hidden in his seat-tube.

The season’s most successful neo-pro, Tasmanian Richie Porte talks about winning the young rider’s jersey at the Giro d’Italia, Ryder Hesjedal talks about his seventh place finish at the Tour, and we go backstage at Cervelo TestTeam’s last ever race, the Tour of Lombardy.

There’s a load more, but you’ll just have to buy it to see for yourself!

On sale Thursday 2 December 2010.

What’s in the current issue of Procycling

| News, ProCycling | no responses | 24/11/2010 12:16pm

Here’s a quick nudge for Procycling’s current issue on the newsstands at the moment. (It’s the one with Thor Hushovd on the cover – can’t miss it.)

As well as an exclusive with the new world champ, we spent 48 behind the scenes with BMC’s doctor Max Testa to find out about treating the world’s toughest athletes.

AG2R’s Nicolas Roche reflects on his career progression and emerging from the shadow of his father’s illustrious cycling career.

We also catch up the ever so modest Miguel Indurain, find out what he’s been up to and his thoughts on his cycling career.

And Marcel Wüst takes Alberto Contador’s customised Specialized S-Works for a spin in the Austrian Alps. It’s a looker, but what’s the verdict?  You’ll have to see for yourself.

Hurry though – it’s off the shelves next week.
