In true British style the amazing weather that was with us a couple of weeks ago has turned. Right before the bank holiday and we’re back to the more traditional gusty, wet, dry, warm and cold weather bursts- often in the same day…
In MBUK 276, we suggest five reasons why you should give 29ers a go.

I’ve been really enjoying the Norco Shinobi lately, as it feels far more like the sort of bike I’d use to shuttle steep and technical trails- not a million miles off my Ragley. So at the weekend I headed out to a local spot to hit a trail I worked on over the summer, specifically with my Ragley in mind. It’s steep, a lot of it off camber and you need a lot of Trials style stoppie turns to get round some of the steeper drop away turns. If ridden right, it’s got great flow, but I imagine it would be quite off putting for some to ride.
Building his own trail made Doddy’s year…

At the end of last week we went product testing with the suspension technicians from SRAM.
It’s that time of year again for us when the big trade shows take place, unveiling lots of cool stuff.Ric was at Eurobike recently, and currently Rob and myself are at the Dirt Demo in Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, Nevada. It’s a few mental days for us- 5am we’re out in the desert getting the sun rise, and shooting bikes all day through until 7.30 at night when the sun sets. It’s a chaotic few days, but a great chance to ride some of 2012′s best offerings.
Here’s a gallery of the shenanigans so far. Keep watch on the MBUK Facebook page and our Twitter feed for updates. Follow our hashtag on Twitter too… #vivalasMBUK
Yep, that’s right. I’ve gone and done it. I’m now part of the wagon wheel, circus stunting, heavy cyclocross monstercross and not-a-proper-mountain-bike crowd. Or at least that’s what they say.
But what do they know?
We love it when the postie shows up at MBUK towers, as the poor guy is always laiden with bags of shiny new kit for us to test out.
